When do NDHCE results come out? Unofficial results and the certificate

PocketPass editorial · Published October 23, 2026 · Last verified October 23, 2026 · 3 sources

The weeks after the exam can feel long. When do results come out, where do you look, and when will you hold your certificate?

Here is the timeline the FDHRC publishes, from unofficial results by candidate ID to the official letter.

Short answer

The FDHRC has up to six weeks after you write to mail your official results. It does not fast track results for any reason.

Unofficial results are posted by candidate ID on the FDHRC website. They are typically mailed out within about two weeks after that.

Do not make career or moving decisions until you have a positive official result.

Unofficial results come first

After each exam, the FDHRC posts a list of results by candidate ID number on its Exam Results page. Unofficial results are Pass, Fail or Under Review.

Your candidate ID is in your exam booking email. The FDHRC does not give candidate IDs out by email or phone and does not respond to requests from candidates who have lost their ID.

Official results can take up to six weeks

The FDHRC has up to six weeks from the day you write to mail out results and supporting documents. It says they are typically mailed within two weeks after the unofficial results are posted.

The official result is Pass or Fail. Results are not given out over the telephone, and the FDHRC will not fast track results for any reason.

Your certificate

If you pass, you receive your National Dental Hygiene Certificate with a unique national certification number, together with your results letter. Priority courier is available for an extra fee, but the package is couriered at the same time as the mailed results.

The FDHRC does not register or issue licences. Contact the regulator in the province where you want to practise.

Paying isn't the same as being registered

Paying online does not mean you are registered. The FDHRC sends a registration confirmation within one to two weeks after the application deadline, after your program director confirms your eligibility.

Unofficial results are posted by candidate ID, official results follow within up to six weeks, and passing candidates receive a certificate with a national number.

While you wait, avoid big career or moving decisions until you have a positive official result. The FDHRC asks candidates to do exactly that.
